I've been having a ruff-ruff time lately...my Gramps and Grammy were supposed to come visit me, but Gramps didn't feel too well, so we had to ixnay the visit - just temporarily! Also, my favorite pen-pal, Chanda, hasn't been feeling well either - what's going on?!
Mama and I had a quiet Memorial weekend - we got some stuff done, and she took me shopping with her - AND, we got to hang out by Starbucks. I snoozed while mama read and sipped her coffee - great fun! And no, I didn't use sunscreen, but mama kept us in the shade.
I DO have something exciting to tell you—I finally met my Uncle Don - he's been living across the ocean for years now - and in fact, although I knew about him, and I think he saw pictures of me, we had never met, nose to snout. So mama arranged a brunch at a lovely outdoor place so I could be there - and Uncle Don showed up (I was wearing my pink t-shirt with the sparkly heart on it) and he liked me!!! Both he and mama drank Bellinis, and I got some cheese from a dish mama ate, but other than that, I was a perfect little girl and just watched the people walking by. Some doofus at the restauranat said I was NOT allowed to be there (OUTSIDE!!!) but mama ignored him and we sat ourselves in a nice corner - so there! And no one said another word about it! After brunch, Uncle Don, mama and I went to Bed, Bath & Beyond - one of my FAVORITE stores! - and mama bought some things - Uncle Don bought a dish towel and a sponge...and THEN (!) we went next door to Starbucks! Uncle Don and mama slurped their frappuchinos...I just people-watched (and what a group of people it was!)...so anyway, THAT was a fun day.
I very worried about illnesses and stuff...I no like when someone I love doesn't feel good...it's been kind'a hot and humid (yuck!) in New York City last week, although this weekend was cooler (much better...). I'm not sure what mama's plans are for this week...but I know I'll be right alongside her, regardless.
She went to take me on my stinkie walk yesterday, even though it was VERY gray out - and wouldn't you know it - as soon as we were down the street, the heavens opened up and I got DRENCHED! I did my business, then mama scooped me up under her umbrella (although I got HER all wet) and we hurried back home. She said she thought she'd have to wring me out! But instead, she took a soft brush, and I sat by the hair blower, and mama carefully brushed my face and body so I could look beautiful again (nice mama!).
We heard about a sale on Maltese puppies at one of our favorite places, so we went today to have a look-see, but frankly, I was not impressed. Ya gotta watch mama with a credit card in a pet store, though...I gotta tell you, I was a little nervous for a few minutes there! Mama would like to have MANY more doggies but I want to be her "one and only!"
So anyway, that's what's new with me. I'm gonna ask all of you to please keep my family and friends in your prayers so everyone feels better, okay? We'll shake paws on it! Thanks, Everyone!
xoxoxo Love, Sparkle
P.S. I have no pictures of Uncle Don because mama forgot to bring a camera - such a blonde!!!
