After The Grooming, by Sparkle

Wow! I feel one pound lighter (I wish!)! I got a GOOD haircut and a nice, soapy bath!!! When I came home, I was kind'a frisky...and I jumped up on mama's bed and started scratching her linens (I so funny!) - then I got pooped and had a lie-down, but I DID give mama a chance to take my picture! Mama didn't pick me up until 2PM, so I have no idea what SHE did all day, but I was in line with a bunch of other doggies to get pretty - and I think it worked!
I hope you're all staying cool - it's a SCORCHER out there - I make mama carry me and my water bottle - the good life!
By the way, mama was gonna take a picture of me in a pretty pink feather boa that Auntie Sharon sent to me but...I ate it. :-(

My Boo-Boo, by Sparkle

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness! We don't know what happened to me, but several weeks ago, right after the BBQ, my mama discovered a huge boo-boo on me - and she rushed me to see Dr. Dillard (she's so nice!) at the Animal Medical Center...Dr. Dillard had to shave the little part where the boo-boo was, and she told mama to put Neosporin on it and lets see if it heals...WELL. Several weeks later, I'm "almost" as good as new - I say that because I wasn't allowed to be bathed or groomed all this time, and mama thinks I look a tad scraggly (that's why there are no photos with this post!)...anyway, boo-boo is pretty much gone, so I'm going to be groomed on Saturday.

It's also VERY hot lately, and I no like heat and humidity too much, so when mama and I went for my walk yesterday, I threw up, not once, not twice, but THREE times in a row! Mama bent down to pat my keppie, and since I now felt better, I jumped up and licked her right on her mouth (I so funny!)...we think I chewed a bone a little too long the night before.

Oh yeah, one more thing...Dr. Dillard put me on a DIET! She says I have to lose almost 1 1/2 pounds - can you IMAGINE? So mama has me on a diet (phooey!) but I've been a VERY good girl and mama thinks I'm a bit lighter. So you should be seeing pictures of me very soon - and lets hope I look a little smaller!

My First BBQ! by Sparkle

I love our friends and family!!!

On July 2nd, I got to go to my very first BBQ hosted by the delightful May Pang, my mama's dear friend! May had LOTS of yummy food there, but since mama put me on a diet, I only had a piece of chicken and a carrot. Everyone was REAL friendly and patted me on my keppie! Mama and I went with my Auntie M, her husband, Uncle HugeBear, and their niece, Helene, who came ALL THE WAY from France (which is QUITE the trip!!!). Auntie M brought a wonderful pasta salad, and mama brought a chocolate cake - which I wasn't allowed to have (phooey!)! May has many nice friends, and I hope we're invited back again - when I'm NOT on a diet! Here's some pictures!
