"My Florida Trip!" by Sparkle

Warm woofs! Mama and I just got back from a visit to Grammy and Gramps - who are spending a few of the winter months in warm Florida! I had the bestest time with them...we did SO much and I met SO many people...here's an overview...upon my arrival at West Palm Beach, I was wearing my denim jacket and sunglasses...I won't even BEGIN to tell you what happened when I went through security at JFK...it's enough to know that one shouldn't wear a lot of jewelry. Anyway, once we got picked up by Grammy & Gramps, all was well and we proceeded to their home...

Gramps showed me around the place...notice the big pond of water behind the house...I was forewarned that Grammy & Gramps had some COMPANY!!!

Yep, DUCKIES kept coming around every day and Gramps would feed them stale bread - and Cheerios! This one is Benjamin...he's a piggy!

Sophie and Arnold also came around a lot - Gramps could pet them and they would eat right out of his hand! I didn't mind as long as MY food wasn't being used...
One day we went with Grammy to the hair salon - isn't she pretty?

Usually we went out and did things during the day, then went out to dinner at night - and came home and scrunched up together on this funny sofa to watch TV before bed...
March 8th was Gramps' birthday so we went out with two other couples, Bob and Jo, and Joe and Helen.
Here's Gramps and Joe - his best friend! (besides me, of course)...

One day Mama and Grammy went to Flakowitz Bakery, and they brought me and Gramps some banana bread! YUM!!!

One day we even went to COSTCO! I met so many people there! Mama and Grammy bought books and sheets and peanut butter crackers!

One night we went to Helen's and Joe's - where GRAMPS made pancakes!!! Helen made this VERY interesting French toast - what a funny dinner this was...they were a lovely host and hostess...only problem was I drank some of Gramps' coffee that day, and had some cola at Helen's house - and Joe gave me MORE coffee (I'm actually not allowed to have ANY caffine!) - I was bouncing ALL OVER the place - and on the way home, I lay on Mama's lap and SNORED SO LOUD...
Here's our Helen and Joe:

And here's my Grammy & Gramps:

Lest I disappoint any fashionistas, I must tell you that I wore a different outfit EVERY DAY! Usually a sundress, or a t-shirt, or something - all VERY cute, and very cool. Here's a close-up of me in my pretty pink Florida sweater:

By the way, Grammy, remember that ADORABLE sundress? My birthday is coming up...! April 21st for those of you who care...
And of course EVERY DAY the piggy duckies came!!!

One day towards the end of our visit, we went to a FLEA Market - no, SILLY, I didn't get any fleas!!! - but I was busy holding court in Gramps' lap, while mama and Grammy hit the jewelry counters...oh, the damage they did!!! But everything SPARKLES!!! By the way - they posted big signs that no photos were allowed, so you'll have to take my word for it...
It was very, very sunny most days, so here's a quick pic of me in MY Ray-Bans:

THere are a few special people to thank for my wonderful trip - most of all, Grammy and Gramps, and Jo and Bob (Jo wouldn't let mama take her picture - but she's so pretty!!!) - they live in Grammy's and Gramps' former house! - and I have to thank Helen and Joe and their daughter and granddaughter and son-in-law, David, who gives GREAT massages! - and I have to thank the duckies who were most cordial, but sloppy eaters, even more so than me...and I have to thank everyone I met at Delta Airlines - I LOVED the cheese and crackers! - and one quick apology 'cause my last night we went to an Italian restaurant, and they were playing opera stuff, and I couldn't help myself - I SANG ALONG!!! Ruff! A-woooo!
And special, special thanks, Grammy, for the steaks...

We had a GREAT time! Mama and I flew home to COLD weather - and a snowstorm! - but we have great memories from our special week...I love you, Grammy & Gramps! And again, Happy Birthday, Gramps!!!
